Length Doesn't Matter
The Art of War by Sun Tzu is 62 pages. Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins is 400+ pages. Both have been bestsellers.Poke the Box by Seth Godin is 95 pages. Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey Moore is 227 pages. Both are huge hits.Mark Manson writes blog posts that take 40 minutes to read. Seth Godin writes blog posts that take one minute to read. Both have millions of readers. My first book was 184 pages, and that may be the longest book I ever write because length doesn't matter. Is it possible, then, that if we cannot explain it simply (and in fewer words), then we do not know it well enough? There may be something to that because one of the most impactful books I have read, As a Man Thinketh, was no more than 25 pages.
