When people get sick of and stop using Instagram in perhaps a decade (or less), what will teenagers and college kids of today have left of their identity?
The answer is not much.
We (myself included) place far too much weight in our online identities. We're largely judged for how we appear on Instagram rather than how we appear in real life. At least subconsciously, young people know this. So, we only show our best sides, building up this online identity.
But what does this online identity mean without online platforms?
The answer is nothing.
